When I spoke to a group of CEO’s, I asked them what comes to mind when I say the word systems. There was a range of looks, reactions, and thoughts. Some business owners looked like they just ate a lemon and some responded with:
Systems give you freedom
Systems are processes
Systems create efficiencies
For the most part, business owners have this love-hate relationship with systems. They love the idea of having more freedom and opportunity by using them but hate the idea of having to implement them.
In my experience with my clients, there’s one thing that is certain. It matters that you take a systems-thinking approach.
Look around your business. Notice how well your systems interrelate or are missing. Where does your system or systems need to change?
Your business needs systems and interfaces with systems in the world. Notice the relationship between and among all of your systems.
Systems change our world. And, they change yours.
