When your plans don’t go as planned, you get caught up in the emotion of the moment, or you’re not seeing the results as quickly as you want, it can be easy to focused on what’s not working. It’s precisely in this moment to look beyond your immediate circumstances. Your health and well being may depend on it. Research backs up the importance of practicing gratitude even in the most challenging times.
According to the Institute of Heart Math, when one expresses gratitude, one reaches a state where your breathing, heart rate, and brain waves are working together at levels of optimum performance. In this state, you are able to stay relaxed regardless of the circumstances around you.
And, as a leader, here’s the key to shifting your circumstances. When you create a consistent practice of being grateful, opportunities come in abundance regularly and effortlessly.
