A lot can change in 12 months. Last December, I wrote a blog about one of my mastermind partner’s yearly practices where she selects a word for the year. She uses this word as a context for what she creates in her life and business.
As soon as she shared her practice, a scene from one of my favorite movies came to mind, It’s a scene with Morgan Freeman’s character, Red, when he used, in his deeply booming voice, the word: magnanimous.
Curious as to word’s definition, I looked it up. It means very generous or forgiving.
Very generous or forgiving.
I guess it makes sense that this word would immediately come to mind since, last December, we were boldly stepping into a new and exciting space, quite literally.
In April 2018, renovations were finally complete and we moved into our newly renovated building. The new office space increased the office footprint and supports the company’s growth strategy by offering expanded services that support small businesses.
The larger space allows for additional Profitability Labs (we’re taking applications from business owners for a new Lab that starts in January 2019). We opened our CoWorking and Executive Suites, and our Conference Rooms are booking up!
As I look back over the year, it’s surreal what has transformed and what is transforming. I’ve stepped into my word magnanimous on more than one occasion, such as when
A donation was made to a charity
A timeline was not met again.
A mistake was made.
A promise was broken.
So, what one word could I use as a context for creating 2019?
Bold?
Fun?
Curious?
Then, it hit me. This word came up when naming my car this year. If you follow me on social media, then you know the word. What is my 2019 word, you ask?
Magnificent.
Let’s see how magnificent shows up…
What’s your word for 2019?
See you soon!
