Consistency creates trust and people do business with people they know, like, and trust. Lisa Mininni
I often mentor my clients about creating consistency in their marketing and other areas of their life so create a life they love, not one lived by default. However, Jean Kay, Canadian Poet and author of Thanksgiving Poetry to Inspire, took consistency to another level. Jean Kay wrote a poem every day for 24 years.
Every. Single. Day.
I met Jean Kay through an international organization of thought leaders. Everyone who met her used similar words to describe her: kind, thoughtful, sweet, and nice.
There wasn’t a day Jean Kay didn’t write. Even through her treatment for her illness, Jean Kay wrote a poem. She composed her words that artfully shared her experience, even when the news was grim. She wrote a hopeful note through it all.
Jean Kay wrote her poetry until she couldn’t. And, on October 30, 2021, her last rhyming words were completed.
While she wrote her words to inspire others, it’s the example that she set that is the most inspiring. Imagine what we could accomplish in the world if we had that level of consistency, commitment, and discipline. Imagine if you had the consistency and commitment to being happy, joyful, and intentional every single day.
Today, I invite you to pause and ask: Where in your own life would consistency, commitment, and intentionality make the most difference for yourself, your family, your clients, and the world?
P.S.
And, in the words of this inspiring poet, Thankful for You by Jean Kay
Take time out to be grateful
for the person that is you,
for all your skills and talents
Apparent in what you do.
There is no one just like you –
you’re unique, one of a kind.
No one else thinks as you do
or knows what’s on your mind.
How you use your special gifts
is entirely up to you,
although some may influence
your learned point of view.
Be grateful for each day you live,
for your loved ones near and far,
for each challenge you take on,
and for being where you are.
Let go of negative thoughts,
Senseless grudges, fears, and doubt.
Live each moment gratefully.
Now is what life’s about.
