Write Your Book

October 31, 2024 by Lisa Mininni Leave a Comment

I remember the swirl of emotions when I first decided to write my book. So many questions ran through my mind:

How am I even going to get this book written?
Where do I go to get it published?
How do I market it?
Could I actually make the best-seller list as a self-publisher?

Fast forward to October 2008, and there I was, launching my book, Me, Myself, and Why? The Secrets to Navigating Change, on a national scale. Not only did it hit the Amazon Best Seller Status, but it landed me right next to the big names—like Jack Canfield, the mastermind behind Chicken Soup for the Soul, and John Gray, author of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus.

Afterward, many professionals who were thinking about writing their own books reached out, curious about how I managed to hit the Best Sellers List alongside such notable authors. They wanted the inside scoop on my process, and before I knew it, they were asking me to put together a program. So I created the Best Seller Profit System Mentoring Program, a comprehensive system to help others write, self-publish, market, and actually profit from their books long-term.

I genuinely believe that everyone has a story worth sharing, wisdom to offer, or ideas that can spark real change. If you ever thought, “I’ve always wanted to write a book,” but held back because you thought no one would care or that it’s just too big of a project—trust me, it’s more possible than you think.

For example, Jill Gleba, a graduate of the Best Seller Profit System was a busy business owner. With her book, Uncommon Sense: Stories about Saving, Investing, and Everything In Between, Jill distilled her years of experience as a CEO into a clear, easy-to-read guide. Her book doesn’t just offer strategies for adults; it’s also fantastic for families who want to introduce kids to saving and investing early on.

So, if you’re ready to take the leap and write your book, know that it’s doable, and the impact you can make is endless.

Our Best Seller Profit System is Thursday-Friday, November 7-8, 2024 and registration ends this Friday.

In this program, you will receive:

A Private Strategy Call before the class even starts so we know what you want to accomplish with your book.

Your Human Wiring Assessment: Receive insights into how best to write and market your book based on your human wiring pattern. Learn what might hold you back and how to overcome it.

4 Private One-on-One Sessions: Use these as you work through writing your book, when you launch your book, or even after you launched your book. These sessions are yours to tap into when you need them.

Step-by-Step Publishing Guidance: We take you from idea to published bestseller with a binder complete with marketing templates and resources.

Revenue-Building Strategies: Discover how to use your book as a platform for speaking engagements, consulting, and other income opportunities.

Tailored Mentorship: Receive the support you need to write and position your book to reach the right audience.

Don’t miss this chance to make your book (and message) profitable while making a significant difference. Get the early registration tuition when you register by this Friday at:

Scaling Smart: How Human Wiring Drives Growth and Efficiency

October 24, 2024 by Lisa Mininni Leave a Comment

At this week’s Wake Up Profitable Boot Camp, human wiring emerged as a crucial tool for aligning team members with their ideal roles. Business owners quickly realized that when individuals operate in sync with their natural wiring, both productivity and job satisfaction dramatically increase—an especially vital insight for scaling a business.

We began by helping them understand their own human wiring and how it influences their leadership style as well as every system in their business. By gaining this awareness, these business leaders discovered they could:

  • Reduce costs by hiring the right person for the right role from the start;
  • Increase retention by identifying the unique needs of each person and crafting targeted professional and personal development plans;
  • Instantly recognize whether their workforce is energized or de-energized.

When scaling a business, it’s equally critical to understand how people need to be onboarded, trained, and given feedback to thrive. Several years ago, we coached a client from a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company on how to onboard their newest customer. By customizing the training to fit the customer’s human wiring, they were able to provide a more tailored onboarding experience. The result? The customer praised the simplicity and ease of using the software.

By leveraging human wiring, businesses can foster a more harmonious and productive workforce, driving long-term profitability, sustainable growth, and more effective workforce development.

Invitation

Want to level up your leadership and knowledge about human wiring, register today, for the Wired to Win 101: How Are You Hardwired on Friday, December 13, 2024.

The Resilient Leader: The Power of Not Taking Things Personally

October 17, 2024 by Lisa Mininni Leave a Comment

As a leader, applying one of The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz,—”Don’t Take Anything Personally”—can fundamentally change how you respond to feedback.

We’ve all experienced that moment. You show a prospective client or customer your product and they say something like, “oh it doesn’t have X” “Is this all there is?” “Not what I was expecting.”

It’s easy to take their comments personally. After all, can’t they see the sweat equity you put into the product or project? Can’t they see the long hours, resources, and effort you spent on it? You feel like they just called your baby ugly.

One day someone came to look at our coworking private office (the other business I also own). He dropped the comment, “I expected it to look nicer with windows.”

Over the years, I learned to not take comments personally. Instead, some of his comments led me to conclude that he was looking for a Class A building. Companies housed in Class A buildings often pay a premium for the prestige, with many features appealing to customers and clients who expect luxury, like marble flooring or cutting-edge environments.

Class B properties, like my Business Innovation Lab, have functional amenities and finishes and are also well-maintained. While they may not boast the sleek glass windows and ultra-modern design of a Class A building, they offer great value and cater to business professionals who prioritize function over form. Of course, many people have also commented that they like the industrial look, the positive messaging throughout, and that the building feels peaceful and clean when they walk through the doors.

First and foremost, it’s essential to remember that feedback—especially when it’s unexpected or offhand—often reflects someone’s personal preferences rather than an objective critique. When a customer or client expresses surprise or disappointment, it’s natural to feel a bit defensive. But instead of focusing on the potential sting of their words, view this as an opportunity to learn more about their needs and expectations.

When someone makes a comment be curious versus defensive. For example, instead of shutting down or over-explaining, you might ask:

“What type of space do you typically work in?”
“What are some of your expectations?”
“What are your concerns?”

These questions open the door for meaningful conversation. Perhaps the visitor values natural light and windows as a crucial part of their workspace. Perhaps they want the aesthetic to reflect a particular brand image. Their response can give you deeper insight into their priorities, allowing you to tailor your services, identify the benefits of your current setup, or simply determine it’s not a good fit.

In fact, by showing curiosity rather than defensiveness, you demonstrate that you’re a leader who listens trying to find the best fit for them. When my building is not a fit, I often refer some of our visitors to a colleague who owns buildings. This builds trust, rapport and a positive brand reputation.

It’s human nature to feel a bit deflated when another person’s expectations don’t align, but the key is to view these moments as learning opportunities. Instead of reacting defensively, dig deeper to understand where their concerns are coming from and how you can address them in a meaningful way.

“Now THIS is a growth program!”

That’s a direct quote from one of the Alumni of our Wake Up Profitable Boot Camp—and it captures the essence of what this program delivers.

Many times our clients receive a result even before they step into the class.
How do they make that happen?
Through our Private Strategy Call that is scheduled before the class even starts.

These are some of the outcomes from just our Strategy Call:

-One client challenged herself to get three new clients. We developed a plan and she secured four before walking into class.
-A client couldn’t figure out how to bring all of her product lines together. We figured it out during her private call giving her instant clarity.
-One client was all over the place wearing too many hats. She developed a plan to delegate so she could be fully present at the boot camp and work on her business.

If you’re a high-achiever who wants to make a big impact, this boot camp is designed for you. It’s a safe space to challenge your thinking, refine your strategy, and connect with fellow leaders who are just as driven to make a bigger impact while living your desired lifestyle.

Over two days, we’ll dive into practical methods for scaling your business, building innovative systems, and unlocking the next level of profitability—all within a collaborative, energizing environment.

This isn’t just another learning event—it’s about transforming the way you approach your business. You’ll leave with a Blueprint to Scale, learn how to systematize your sales and marketing, and, most of all, know exactly how to put your vision into action. The live coaching sessions show you how to map out multiple revenue streams.

If you’re inspired to take the next step, think bigger, and turn your ideas into concrete results, this is the place to do it.

The Wake Up Profitable Boot Camp happens on Monday, October 21-22 2024.

From Miscommunication to Mastery: A Manager’s Human Wiring Epiphany

October 3, 2024 by Lisa Mininni Leave a Comment

Jessica had been a manager for over ten years, and she prided herself on her ability to lead teams and drive results. Her department consistently hit their targets, but there was always an underlying frustration gnawing at her—her staff just didn’t seem to “get” her directions. No matter how clear she thought she was, she often found herself dealing with missed deadlines, misinterpretations, and incomplete tasks.

“It’s like I’m speaking another language,” she would tell herself, feeling frustrated after yet another team meeting where her ideas didn’t seem to land.

She believed that the issue was with her staff. If they couldn’t follow simple instructions, maybe they weren’t fit for the job. Jessica grew more and more frustrated. In private conversations, she confided to her peers that perhaps she just had a team that wasn’t cut out for the level of execution she needed. Yet, even as she voiced these concerns, something didn’t sit right.

One day, she attended a leadership development seminar where the speaker introduced a concept that would change everything: Human Wiring as a Leadership Superpower. The speaker explained that every person is wired differently in how they process information, make decisions, and take action. Jessica sat forward in her seat as she realized this was about more than just communication styles—it was about recognizing and adapting to the inherent differences in how people are wired to function.

The light bulb went off.

It wasn’t that her staff didn’t understand her directions; it was that she hadn’t been speaking to them in a way that resonated with their individual wiring. Some team members were more methodical and needed step-by-step details to feel confident about a task, while others thrived on big-picture thinking and could feel stifled by too many instructions. Some of her employees needed more details, while others were action-oriented and craved a faster pace.

Jessica realized that she had been delivering the same message to everyone, expecting the same results, regardless of their wiring. Her “one-size-fits-all” approach was the problem—not her team.

Excited and slightly humbled, Jessica returned to work with a new mindset. She began observing her staff, learning their natural tendencies, and paying attention to how they responded to different types of instructions. In team meetings, she started tailoring her message. For the members who were more sequential, she provided clear, detailed breakdowns. For the team members who didn’t need a lot of information, she gave them bullet pointed outcomes. For the relational ones, she gave them time to discuss and connect with others before making decisions.

The results were astonishing. Tasks that had once stalled suddenly flowed smoothly. Communication breakdowns decreased, and her team felt more empowered to take ownership of their work. Jessica saw the immediate impact of aligning her leadership with her team’s wiring.

But beyond just productivity, something even more powerful happened: her relationships with her team deepened. They felt seen and valued for who they were, not just for their ability to execute tasks. Jessica’s leadership style evolved from being directive to truly collaborative, and her staff responded with newfound enthusiasm.

Reflecting on her journey, Jessica realized that understanding human wiring had given her the key to unlock her team’s potential. It wasn’t about pushing them harder—it was about meeting them where they were wired to be their best. What started as a leadership frustration had turned into her greatest leadership strength.

Jessica’s story is a testament to the power of understanding human wiring and how it can transform not only productivity but also relationships within a team.
